JEWELLERY GIFT BUYING GUIDE

You've got this - jewellery buying made perfect!

Buying jewellery for someone else can be quite a daunting prospect, but if you get it right it can be the most wonderful and rewarding gift that you’ll ever give someone.

Jewellery is very personal and the thought that you put into your gift is what makes it so special.

If you already have a special gift in mind, it is likely you've decided on a particular jewellery item - necklace, bracelet, earrings or a combination of pieces. To help you refine your search, you may want to consider the following tips to help you pick the perfect gift.

What do they normally wear?

Do they normally prefer silver or gold? As a general rule, most of us have a preference for either gold or silver based jewellery - some like both, but consider what they normally wear most often - that will likely be the best option to go for.

Do they have a particular style?

Is there a style of jewellery that they always wear? If that's the case, try not to go to far from that style unless you know that they're willing to try something new.

Consider their wardrobe, the colour and style of their clothes and accessories. Getting an item of jewellery to match the colour of their favourite handbag, shoes, dress or any other item of clothing is also a great place to start.

Would you consider them to be classically elegant, bold and adventurous, bling and sparkle bling and sparlk or  bohemian and eclectic? They may have a different style for different occasions, so consider if you are buying something to be worn every day or for a special occasion or night out.

Every day or special occasion?

If you want to get something that will be worn everyday, consider more timeless and versatile items in their favourite colours and style. Weekend wear can be much more adventurous and relaxed, and for evenings and special occasions go for something that will add a splash of colour or bold statement.

Make sure you consider the lifestyle of the person you're buying for - is this someone who is suited and booted for their job or are they more relaxed? Or perhaps its a stay at home parent dealing with kids all day long?

If that's the case, a long pair of dangle drop earrings or a slender beaded necklace are not going to make it onto their 'wear everyday' list - but they may be perfect for special occasions.

A gift of jewellery should be presented beautifully and gift wrapped to reflect the gorgeous gift inside! Rest assured, we can take care of that for you.
